Casa JM 2 y 3

Casas JM 2 y 3 are single-family houses developed in Jesús María, Sinsacate. The design was carried out together with another studio, while site supervision was ours.

Conceived on a single floor, they suit standard families as well as those who want to grow old in them. Their materiality — conventional construction, low maintenance — also allows them to work as country houses or second homes.

Porcelain floors and plain finishes were chosen, avoiding passing solutions and giving each house an identity of its own.

The main challenge was building three houses with different designs at the same time, on a schedule equivalent to a single project. That meant coordinating labour, finishes and quality standards simultaneously. On top of that, construction took place during the pandemic, with interruptions, movement restrictions and difficulty keeping a crew on site.
